NORTON, James Arthur - Jimì³ - 86, Kingston passed away peacefully on Saturday October 9, 2010. Born in Mackayville, Quebec he was a son of the late Albert and Violet (Walton) Norton. Jim was retired from the Canadian Navy - Chief E. R. A. after 25 years of service including serving during World War II. Following his retirement he was General Manager for Trizec Properties, (Halifax Shopping Center) for 20 years. Jim was an avid golfer. Jim is survived by his wife Catherine - Cathyì³ (Bowers); sons James - Jimì³ (Gerry), Kentville, William - Billì³ (Anne), Halifax; grandchildren Chris, Greg, Gillian, Matthew and Michael Norton; great-grandchildren Ryan, Joshua, Jacob, Miles and Maria Norton and great-great grandson Landon Norton; stepchildren Robert Gibbs and Christine Gibbs, Halifax. There will be no visitation. Funeral service will be held Wednesday October 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick with Rev. Matthew Sponagle officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Middleton. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim?¢s memory may be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Building Fund.
