GOSBEE, Sherlock Holmes Jr. - 70, Weltons Corner, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2010, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Shelburne, he was a son of the late Sherlock and Beatrice (Crowell) Gosbee. Sherlock had worked at Eastern Bakeries for approximately 40 years, starting in Shelburne and later transferring to Berwick, where he was involved with the union, retiring in 1996. He was well known for his hat collection, loved to camp and spend time with his life partner, Alice and his grandchildren. Sherlock enjoyed attending exhibitions and blue grass music festivals. Surviving are his life partner, Alice L. Ogilvie, Weltons Corner; step-children, Carolyn Ogilvie, Aylesford; David (Wanda) Ogilvie, North Kingston; Jack Ogilvie, Weltons Corner; Joseph (Mandy) Ogilvie, Aylesford; Lamont (Evelyn) Sabeans, Berwick step-grandchildren, Jennie, Michelle, Teddy, Jamie, Julie, Tim, Kelsey, Brandon and Emily; step-great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Drew, Chrissie, Tyler, Kyra, Amber and Alex; sister, Shirley Allan, Chester; niece, Melody; nephews, Murray, Leslie, Mark and Wade; numerous great nieces and great nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Burton and Danny. Visitation for Sherlock will take place from 7-9 p.m., Friday, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23. Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Shelburne, at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Restorative Care Unit of the Digby General Hospital or to any charity.
