Obituary of Richard Lloyd Hicks

It is with saddened hearts we announce the sudden passing of Richard Lloyd Hicks in Soldier?¢s Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 4, 2010. Richard was born in Middleton hospital on June 5, 1951 and was the youngest son of the late Lloyd Hicks and Thelma Delaney Hicks, of Digby. He was educated in the Digby School system and Middleton Vocational School. He worked at Nova Scotia Power for 22 years .Then with the Municipality of Kings County for approximately 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 37 years the former, Gail Melanson and two daughters, Natasha and grandson Evan of Mount Uniacke and Sarah (Michael) Lyons and grandson Reyce of South Rawdon; Two sisters, Luella (Robert) Marshall of South Range and Linda (John) Baxter of Digby and a brother Dudley (Sharon) Hicks, Head of Chezzetcook as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his faithful sidekick Bandit, his beloved dog. No flowers by request and donations would be appreciated to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Richard?¢s life will be held at 11 AM., Friday, December 10th in Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, and reception to follow in Church Hall. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Funeral Home and Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NS, B4P 1E7.
