ERIC RUMBOLT 90 formerly of Happy Valley/Goose Bay, Labrador passed away Dec27th 2010 at Ryan Hall Bridgewater,Nova Scotia. He was born in Trap Cove,Labrador to the late Abigail(Sutton) and John Rumbolt. He spent his early years fishing with his father,brothers and uncles and often reminisced of his early days on the Labrador coast.He retired from the American/Canadian Air Force Base in Goose Bay in 1987 after 35 years service.He was proud to have received several awards for his hard work and dedication from the Base Commander and the Prime Minister of Canada. After retirement, he moved to Bridgewater to be closer to his family.He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion HV/GB Branch 051 and later Branch 024 in Bridgewater. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Lily May in 1967,sons Eric Bernard in 1950 and Isaac in 2010 along with 11 brothers and sisters. He was the last surviving member of his family and proud to have lived the longest reaching a personal goal of 90 years on Dec 18th. He is survived by sons Bernie(Kathy Jo)Bridgewater; Eric Jr, Edmonton; daughters Linda(David)Winthrop,Washington State; Patricia(Roy)Annapolis,Maryland;Trudy(Scott)Goose Bay, Labrador;13 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. His remains have been cremated . A private service will be held at the home of his son Bernie and a Celebration of His Life with internment will be held in Labrador in the summer of 2010.Arrangements are incomplete at this time.Donations can be made to the charity of your choice .
