PARKER, Ronald Freeman - 60, Granville Centre/Berwick, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2010, at home. Born in Kentville, he was a son of Arthur (and wife Debra) Parker, New Minas, and the late Doreen (Rodgers) Parker. Ronald had worked as a cook at C.F.B. Greenwood for 35 years and was a member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Ortona Branch # 69, Berwick. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved nature, enjoyed bird watching, hunting and fishing. Besides his father he is survived by his wife, Linda M. (Travis) Parker; daughters, Trina (Jeff) Tooker, Granville Centre; Doreen Franklin, Augusta, Maine; grandchildren, Alex, Ryan and Eden; brothers, Roy (Elaine), Cambridge Station; Chris (Christine), New Minas; sisters, Linda Dill, Burnaby, B.C.; Carol (Alan) Dill, Kentville; several nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by a son, Bruce in infancy; brother, Wayne. Visitation for Ronald will take place from 7-9 p.m., Sunday, in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the Royal Canadian Legion Service and Funeral Service will take place at 2 p.m., Monday, January 3. Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating, with burial in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Victorian Order of Nurses, Annapolis Valley Branch.
