HIRTLE, Margery Eleanor - 78, Somerset, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011, in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Guy and Kathleen (Killam) Zwicker. Margery had graduated as a Registered Nurse from Glace Bay General Hospital in 1953, and also had practiced nursing in Middleton, Berwick, Boston and in Colorado. She enjoyed artifact hunting, was an avid gardener, was a member of the Valley Gardeners Club and the Berwick Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Malcolm E. - Macì³ Hirtle, Somerset; daughter, Melanie Hirtle, Halifax; son, Michael (Giselle); granddaughter, Madison, Black Rock; brothers, Gordon Zwicker, New Jersey; Robert (Inis) Zwicker, Kilbride, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Zwicker; sisters, Marion Ring; Laura Stokes; Muriel Cooper; Ferne Lane. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900), from where the funeral service will take place art 1 p.m., Thursday, January 6. Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating, with burial in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Grand View Manor or to any charity.
