I’m saddened to come across Fred Jollimore Sr. death. His sons were friends of mine. Fred usually disapproved of our teenage ways but he has a quiet way of telling us. I will never forget how in 1974 he came every day for a week to look after my wife and I when we got a debilitating flu. No one would expect a quiet mechanic to spoon feed chicken soup to 2 adults who couldn’t get out of bed, couldn’t even raise their arms. Somehow he saw that our infant children were looked after. He was a surprising man with true Christian kindness.

Dearest Olive and Family, So sorry to hear of Fred passing and just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Fred always treated my girls like his grandchildren and gave them lots of life advise which I am grateful for and the girls always saw him and you as grandparents. The family and I are not able to be with you at this time of grieving but will hope to see you soon. Even though we have the hope of the resurrection it still is sad to lose a member so dear but will look forward with anticipation to a time when we will be able to embrace him once again. I FIRST MET FRED IN FEBRUARY 1964 WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR OF THE LITTLE CORK STREET KINGDOM HALL IN HALIFAX. I WAS JUST LEARNING THE TRUTH AND WAS TIMID. FRED WELCOMED ME WITH OPEN ARMS AND STARTED INTRODUCING ME TO EVERYONE. IN A FEW MINUTES I FELT VERY WELCOME. OUR SYMPATHY TO HIS WHOLE FAMILY, DEL AND MARY.
