VEINOTTE, Merritt Richard - 81, of New Ross, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2011 at the Fisherman?¢s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. He was the son of the late Harry and Veda (Walker) Veinotte. Merritt?¢s passion and love was - The Boysì³; his oxen. He enjoyed competing in Exhibitions with his team completing pulls. Meritt will be sadly missed by his surviving family; including his loving wife of 62 years, Burdette (Gates); sons Ellison (Ruth), New Ross; Kevin (Debbie), New Ross; daughters Vanessa (Bill) Barbour, New Ross; Elsie (Max) Hiltz, New Ross; sisters Ivalo, Bridgewater; Ida (Cecil) Swinamer, Western Shore; grandchildren Andre, Jesse, Jai Deane, Darcy, Drew; great grandchildren Brandy, Kurtis, and MacKenzie. Merritt was predeceased by his son Earlin, and grandson Mark. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 7-9 p.m. at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 4935 Highway #12, New Ross, NS B0J 2M0. The Memorial Service will take place at the New Ross Baptist Church on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Judith Gates officiating. Burial will follow in the Baptist Church Cemetery.
