SPENCER, Phyllis Marie - 59, Cambridge Station, Kings Co., passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Garnet - Bun쳌 and Esther (Crocker) Martin. Phyllis loved her dog - Sage쳌, enjoyed camping, playing darts, going to dances, playing bingo and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Kentville Baptist Church and had worked in retail most of her life. Surviving are her sons, Chris (Carol) Spencer, Waterville; Jamey (Margaret) Spencer, Cambridge Station; Matthew (Kim) Bennett, Waterville; grandchildren (whom she adored), Patrick, Nathan, Alexis, Seth, Dawson and Alyssa; great-grandson, James; brothers, Ron (Ruth) Martin, Coldbrook; Earl (Ann Marie) Martin, Kentville; David (Carla) Martin, Regina, Sask.; Larry (Candy) Martin, Kentville; sisters, Nancy (Frank) MacCumber, Edmonton, Alta.; Tracey Bishop; Kelly (Mark) Bishop, all of Kentville; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Sandra McKeen, Kentville. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Mark in infancy; husband, Vincent Spencer; sister, Judy Martin; long-time spouse, Steven Bennett. There will be no visitation. Funeral service for Phyllis will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 19, in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. John McNally officiating with spring burial in the Cambridge Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the M.S. Society.
