Sheppard (Whiting), Geraldine (Bonnie) Marie - 79, passed away on Sunday January 2nd, 2011 at the Dykeland Lodge nursing home in Windsor, N.S. after a struggle with Alzheimer's Disease over the past four years. Born in St. Croix, N.S. on December 9th, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ethel Whiting (Murphy). She married John William Sheppard (deceased) in 1949 in Sydney, N.S. After living in Newfoundland, she later moved to Chester, N.S. where she spent the majority of her life. Bonnie is survived by her sister Olive Layboldt and her husband Gary, Alberta; son in law, Arthur Brown, Chester, N.S.; grandson DwayneA. Brown and his wife Anita Bardeen, Orlando, U.S.A.; granddaughter Lisa Brown and her husband Alfonso Kutz, Santiago,Chile; granddaughter Shanon Sheppard, Halifax, N.S.; and three great grandchildren, Gabriel Kutz, Sofia Kutz and Arabella Furlotte, as well as many cousins and other family members. Bonnie was predeceased by her husband John W. Sheppard, brother Roger Whiting and her three children, Patricia Brown (Sheppard); Steven Sheppard and Elizabeth Sheppard. Bonnie spent many years as a member and treasurer of the Chester Anglican Church but mostly dedicated her life to her family and friends never missing a moment to spend time with them. A very loving and caring person who had a hypnotic smile and a shine in her eye, she will be dearly missed. There will be no service at present time, a small memorial service will be held for family in July 2011. May she rest in peace.
