Obituary of John Laurie MacFarlane

MACFARLANE, John Laurie - 81, passed away at home on February 28, 2011. He was the son of the late Winburne and Elsie May (Hannah) of Wolfville. John was a film editor in his early profession, and soon after that he worked as a reporter for The Acadian and travelled extensively including his trip to Expo ?¢67 in Montreal to cover events. He later became the director of the Wolfville Tourist Bureau a position which he held for many, many years. He was an avid reader, photographer, and enjoyed walking the many trails in Wolfville. John was well respected within the Seniors Complex and will sadly missed by his many dear friends. A memorial service will be held at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home at 568 Main Street, Wolfville, NSÃ? B4P 1E7 at 1 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2011 with Lay-Chaplain Jim Norton officiating. Private burial will take place in the Willowbank Cemetery. Donations in John?¢s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
