Obituary of Marion Edith MacLeod

MacLeod (Pierce), Marion Edith- 1923-2011. The family of Marion Macleod regret to announce the passing of their mother, sister and grandmother. Marion was born in Halifax where she lived all her life. She was a proud mother and homemaker. As an excellent gardener, Marion had a flair for growing flowers and making beautiful arrangements. She enjoyed many family gatherings and had a special talent for composing funny and touching poems, which she took great pride in entertaining everyone with. She was a long-time member of St. Paul?¢s United Church and United Church Women and she held many positions in the church over the years. Her grandchildren, Heather and Katie MacArthur were a large part of her life. Marion was predeceased by husband, James MacLeod; son, Paul MacLeod; sister, Jeanne Pierce and brother, Alver Pierce. She is survived by daughter, Dale MacArthur (Bruce), New Minas; her two grandchildren; brother, Gordon Pierce, Peterborough, Ont.; sister, Connie Spinney, Moncton. No visitation by family request. Funeral service will be held in St. Paul?¢s United Church (corner of Old Sambro and Rockingstone Road, Spryfield) on Monday, March 28th at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul?¢s United Church, Spryfield.
