STILES, Kenneth Ivan - 92, Wolfville, passed away April 2, 2011 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. He was born May 22, 1918 in The Range, New Brunswick, the son of the late Jessie (Lutes) and Rev. Pierce Stiles. Ken had a successful career in sales and retired as Halifax Branch Manager of Nortel in 1973. He was a life-long member of the Baptist Church, as well as being a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite Mason, Past Master of St. George's Lodge, Wolfville and a 50 year Jewel recipient. Ken was a long-time Rotarian and was awarded the Paul Harris Fellowship. He was an avid curler and golfer and in his last years became the published author of three short books. Ken is survived by his second wife, Marion (Durling, Hiltz, Johnstone); brother Donald (Marjorie) Stiles, Sussex; brother-in-law Paul Conrad, Bayport; step-daughters Margaret (Murray) Spencer, Wolfville; Karly (Richard) Denton, Wolfville; Kathi (Michael) Marling, Oakville; Lisa (Michael) Hamer, Ottawa; Nephews William (Wendy) Kierstead, Halifax; Blair (Jocelyn) Kierstead, Woodstock; March (Sherry) Stiles, Calgary; Paul (Peggy) stiles, Sussex; nieces Sharon (Ken) Rooke, Charlottetown; Judy (Bob) Johnson, Charlottetown; six step-grandchildren and eleven grandnephews and nieces. Ken was predeceased by brother Blair; sister Annabel (Paul) Conrad; and by his first wife, Mildred McAdoo. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A Masonic service will be held at 7p.m. Wednesday, April 6 at Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main St., Wolfville. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at Wolfville Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Barry Morrison officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will take place in Norton, NB at a later date. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Wolfville Area Inter-church Council Food Bank or a charity of choice.
