Bennett, Muriel Aileen - 1915-2011; passed away peacefully on May 21, 2011 in the Kingston General Hospital, ON. Muriel was the daughter of John Alexander and Jessie Trefry (nee Lockhart) Hatchard. She moved from her beloved Nova Scotia in 1999 to live with her daughter and family in Kingston, Ontario. She enjoyed knitting, doing crosswords, keeping in contact with family and friends in Nova Scotia and throughout Canada and the U.S.A. She was a proud Nova Scotian and was happy to tell everyone about it! Muriel knit many items for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren as well as donating over 100 knit caps and sweaters for preemies. We are so grateful to our friends in Kingston for their kindness and friendship to make her feel part of their families. Muriel is survived by her daughter Joan (Bob) Reese; granddaughters Connie (D.J. Smith); great-grandsons James and Frankie. Granddaughter Roberta Eamer and great-granddaughter Ella and several nieces and nephews. Muriel was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1984 and by her brothers Horace; John; sister Ruby Corkum and half sisters and half brothers. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, B4P 1E7. Visitation will be held at the St. John?¢s Anglican Church in Wolfville on May 30 at 1 p.m. There will be a funeral service held on the same day at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Sandra Fyfe officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John?¢s Anglican Church Cemetery. For those wishing to make donations in Muriel?¢s memory they can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of choice.
