WALSH, Frederick Gordon - Fred쳌 - 84, New Minas, Kings Co., formerly of Halifax, passed away peacefully in the Valley Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Born in Halifax on May 14th., 1927, he was a son of the late Louis and Violet (Kenny) Walsh. Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by his sister, Maureen; brother, Joe. Surviving are brothers, Billy (Vivian), Fall River; Jim (Marguerite), St. Croix; Michael (Helen), New Minas; Peter (Rosalee), St. Margarets Bay; sisters, Mary (Mike) McSween, Halifax; Pauline (Don) Millen, Bedford; Cathy (Roy) Crowell, Halifax Co.; Barb Walsh, New Minas; Marion (Burris) McManus, Bedford; several nieces and nephews. He was dearly loved and held a very special place in the hearts of his surviving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and large extended family. Rest in peace our beloved brother in the arms of Jesus. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Valley Regional Hospital for their loving care. Visitation for Fred will take place from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 568 Main St., Wolfville, N.S., B4P 1E5, (902-542-4656). Funeral mass to be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Main St., Wolfville. Rev. Fr. Larry Pitcher officiating, with burial following in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Halifax. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
