STRUM (McKay), Edith Elaine - 67, Aylesford, Kings Co., passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, she was a daughter of the late Stedman C. and Dorothy A. (Murphy) McKay. Edith enjoyed picking strawberries, playing bingo and loved to spend time with her family. Surviving are her son, Andrew (Amanda Adams); daughters, Sandra (Edward) Eisnor; Margaret (Glenn Spencer); Mary (Robert Ellingwood) Hazel; Sue (Ronald Young), all of Aylesford; Sarah (Anton Acker) Shand, Coldbrook; 11 grandchildren (the 12th. due very soon); brothers, Wayne (Velma); Dale (Jeanie Jones); Perry (Gail); Larry (Penny), all of Aylesford; Fred (Arlene), Auburn; sisters, Shirley (Andy) Carew, Calgary, Alta.; Donna Schofield; Cathy (Eddie Pelton) Keddy, all of Cambridge; Bonnie (Wayne) Spurr; Elizabeth (Sheldon) Lenihan, all of Aylesford; Joanne (Barry) Murphy, Lower Sackville; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gerald F. Strum; grandson, Bruce Eisnor; brother, Kenny; sister, Linda Ells. There will be no visitation. Funeral service for Edith will take place at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Clyde Lowe officiating, with burial in St. Mary?¢s Anglican Cemetery, Auburn. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
