WEIR, Victor Hughie - 82, Black River passed away June 11, 2011 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Black River he was a son of the late Edgar and Agnes (Schofield) Weir. Victor was a loader operator and truck driver with Ocean Contracting and Municipal Construction. He liked music, dancing and playing cards. Victor is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marie (Smith); sons Marshall (Joanne), Belmont, Stephen, Hantsport, Stewart, Black River; daughter Darlene (Wallace Lightle), Black River; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sisters Beverly (Basil) Duncanson, Hortonville, Marion Hyland, Halifax, Irene (Frank) Davis, London, Ont., Olive McNab, Halifax and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Victor was predeceased by a daughter Deborah; brothers Lester, Arthur, Lawrence, Aveman, Gordon, Ellis; sisters Hazel, June and Evelyn. Cremation has taken place. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday June 16, 2011 in the Black River Cemetery with Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Black River Community Centre building committee or to the charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home and Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, Nova Scotia B4P 1E7.
