Kimber (Roome), Marion Eva, 92, passed away on July 4, 2011 in the Halifax Infirmary. Marion was an award-winning amateur artist whose landscape paintings have found their way into homes around the world. In 1987, she co-founded the Art Gallery for Seniors to showcase the work of older artists. In 1991, she was honoured with a Nova Scotia Community Service Award. Born in Halifax in 1918, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Amelia (Towill) Roome. She is survived by her children Judith (Ross) MacKenzie, Oakville, ON, and Stephen (Jeanie) Kimber, Halifax, NS; grandchildren Catharine (Trent Morris) MacKenzie, Toronto, Susan MacKenzie, Toronto, Graham (MichÃ?éle) MacKenzie, Toronto, Matthew Kimber, Portland, OR, Emily (Greg) Kimber Arthur, Halifax and Michael Kimber, Toronto; and great grandchildren Claire, Gillian, Aidan, Innes and Dido Marion. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Kimber and her brother Ramsay Roome. A memorial ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
