MURPHY, Nellie Florence (Bishop) - 75, Kingston passed away July 16, 2011 in Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Grassy Lake, Alberta, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Gladys (Crocker) Bishop.
Nellie had worked in the Nova Scotia Sanatorium in Kentville. She was an avid Elvis fan. Nellie loved animals, crafts, crochet, knitting, cooking and painting. She collected and enjoyed stuffed animals and as her last wish, her collection is being donated to the IWK. Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was thoughtful of people and very giving even when she was sick. She would often say - everything tastes better when you shareì³. Nellie had an awesome sense of humor. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Nellie is survived by her sons Peter, Halifax, Percy (Karen), Kingston; daughters Eva Scotney, Kingston, Sherryl (Rigby) Veinot, East Dalhousie; grandchildren Scott, Teresa, George, Brenda, Matthew, Brandon and Bradley; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Nellie was predeceased by her husband Cecil; son Jimmy Dean, sisters Elsie Foster and Bernice Loomer.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday July 20, 2011 in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick with Rev. Dr. William Moorehead officiating. Interment will be in the Aylesford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
