FISHER, Frank Herbert - 88, Berwick, formerly of Somerset, Kings Co., passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Somerset, he was a son of the late Edwin and Ida (Burrill) Fisher. Frank had worked at various jobs throughout the province. His most memorable were years spent as foreman at Avon Foods, Berwick, and the 12 years he was the caretaker of the United Church of Canada Camp Meeting Grounds in Berwick, where he enjoyed playing in the horseshoe tournaments. In every job he had Frank enjoyed the camaraderie of people he met. Frank?¢s pastime was his hobby farm, gardening and selling vegetables. He loved to spend time with his family, playing crokinole, washer toss and cards and was well known for his firm handshake which he had to the very end. Surviving are his wife, Greta J. (Nauss) Fisher, Berwick; sons, David (Nancy), Princeport; Tim (Shirlene), Harbourville; daughters, Beverley Lipfield, Richmond Hill, Ont.; Sandra (Darrell) Lohnes, Meadowvale; Debbie Fisher, South Berwick; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Fred, Kingston; sisters, Marjorie Wood, Centreville; Jean Spicer, Middleton; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son-in-law, Gil Lipfield; grandson, Gordon Lohnes; brothers, George, Robert, William - Billì³; sisters, Nellie Clark; Isabell Avery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, and family committal service will take place with Rev. Marilyn Rose officiating. All are welcome to attend a celebration of Frank?¢s life from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, July 24, in the Somerset Community Hall.
