Hebb, Vernon James - 84, Windsor Forks; passed away August 15, 2011 surrounded by his loving family in the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor. Born in Windsor on November 7, 1926 he was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Mason) Hebb and step father John Deal. Besides his parents; he was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Daniels), sister Edna; and brother Alvin. He is survived by his sons Brian (Shelley), Martock; and Grant (Nancy), Windsor; grandchildren Stephanie, Windsor; Matthew, Martock; Travis (Heidi), Telegraph Creek, BC; and Andrea, Kingston, ON; brother-in-law Bill (Millicent) Daniels, Windsor Forks; special friends Bill and Janet Oulton and David and Lois Gillis; as well as nieces , nephews, cousins, and friends. Vernon retired from the Fundy Gypsum Company in 1984 and enjoyed 27 years of retirement. Prior to this Vernon worked in the Lumbering Industry and briefly in Taber, AB. He loved gardening, looking after his property, fixing things that needed to be fixed, and telling stories to his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Sincere thank you to Elliot and Jean Daniels for being such good neighbours for so many years. Special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Hants Community Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the VON. Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 2:00 in the Windsor Forks Cemetery with Reverend Daniel Jamer officiating. A reception will be held at Brian and Shelley?¢s residences following the service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home and Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, Nova Scotia B4P 1E7. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vernon?¢s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Research Division) and the Windsor Forks Cemetery.
