Obituary of Oral Doyle Barkhouse

Barkhouse, Oral Doyle Roy - 46, of Windsor and Martins Point, passed away suddenly on August 18, 2011, of an aneurysm.Oral, the son of a carpenter, had always displayed a passion and gift for carpentry. he had a keen eye and the ability to craft beautiful well-built creations from wood that others could only imagine. He also enjoyed fishing and sailing on the waters of Mahone Bay and boy could he could throw a rock. Oral's quick wit, South Shore sense of humor, smile and infectious laugh will always be with us. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Oral is survived by his loving companion, Denise Forand; daughter; Katrina Barkhouse (Sandy); stepdaughter; Aimee Warner; mother, Gloria Martin (Lloyd); brother, Bradley (Anna), children Paige and Zachary; brother, Daniel (Erica), son Jaykob; father and mother-in-law, Jean-Luc and Kaye Forand; brothers-in-law, Rick (Janice), Luc (Madeline) and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins, especially the girl cousins across the road. Oral gave of himself once again giving the gift of life as an organ donor. The family would like to give special thanks to the Good Samaritan in Ellershouse, Emergency Response Team, emergency staff of Hants Community Hospital, Life Flight, caring and comapssionate staff of the Neuro ICU, Halifax Infirmary and our amazing friends. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Oral's life on Thursday, August 25th from 7-9p.m in New Hop Community Church, 6625 Hwy. 3, Western Shore. Funeral Serviices will be held on Friday, August 26, 2pm in Windsor United Church, 613 King St., Windsor.
