Obituary of Shirley Margaret Connors

Connors, Shirley Margaret (Reeves) - 69, of Cambridge, passed away on Saturday September 3, 2011 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Usher) Reeves. Shirley always made an effort to support her community in any way that she could whether it be by attending community fundraisers or benefit auctions. She will be remembered for her readiness to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Shirley cherished her time with friends as she joined them at BINGO or on a trip; she especially enjoyed her vacation in Newfoundland. As well you could see Shirley at any of the local exhibitions and her family remembers her catching buses or traveling with friends to go anywhere from Windsor to Bridgewater; she loved socializing. Shirley is survived by her son George, Halifax; daughter Sheila (Richard) Pierik, Cambridge; granddaughter, Tara, Cambridge; brothers Ron (Marilyn) Reeves, Berwick; Leon (Pat) Reeves, Harold (Ruth) Reeves; Henry (Fran) Reeves, all from Cambridge; sister Evelyn (Ralph) Sabean, Berwick; sister-in-law Linda Reeves, New Minas; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, LeRoy; brother Walter Reeves; and sister Betty Reeves. A visitation will be held on Tuesday September 6, 2011 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick; from where a funeral service will take place on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Marilyn Rose officiating; followed by an internment in the Berwick Cemetery.
