Good morning Edchr(39)s family, I was so sorry to hear of Edchr(39)s passing. I hadnchr(39)t seen Ed in a few years but Ed and I shared a love of food for several years as he picked up his standing order for sourdough rye bread at my bakery. The recipe was even one Ed had found for me; he even bought me special pans in which to bake it in! Hechr(39)d tell me what he was after in regards to texture and flavour, regaling the breads of his youth in NY, and Ichr(39)d work away trying to meet his expectations. It took a few tweakings to get it just the way he wanted. I so wanted to please Ed with the best bread I could possible bake, but Ed gave me so much more in return! I can say that those years that Ed and I shared in my bakery are very special to me. He encouraged me, supported me, believed in my baking. He was part of my venture to build a big brick oven in the bakery, helping to design, and regulate this brick beast of an oven. Ed was the person I missed most when I closed my bakery doors. He will always be alive in my heart, and I like to think that because of my love for Ed, my angel-daughter Jess, who served Ed in the bakery, was there among the crowd to meet him as he crossed over. Let their be excellent rye bread in Heaven!
