GOULDEN (Hiltz), Lurenda Viola - Louì³ - 96, Auburn, Kings Co., passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011, in the Willow Lodge Home for Special Care, Tatamogouche. Lou was born on November 10, 1914, in Fraxville, Lunenburg Co., and was a daughter of the late Luke and Esther (Legge) Hiltz. She married Arthur James Goulden in August of 1932 and lived in Auburn for most of her life. They had one daughter, Edith Velma. Lou was a long-time member of the Anglican Church Women at St. Mary?¢s Anglican Church, Auburn. She provided many years of dedicated service to the Canadian Red Cross Society. Lou loved dogs and she bred champion pugs. Wherever she went dogs were attracted to her, even in her final days, Tiko, the resident dog at Willow Lodge, would be found curled up next to her. Lou was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, her daughter, Edith (her late husband, Lorne S. McSween); sisters, Selena, Marjorie, Beachel, Odella; brothers, Burgess, Basil, Maurice and Arnold. She is survived by sister, Idella (Gordon) Parrish, Halifax; grandchildren, Karel McSween Olsen, Boise Idaho; James John McSween, Bayhead. She will be greatly missed by her family and will be especially remembered by them for her blueberry pies, handmade quilts, three finger mittens and fishing trips. The family are very grateful to the staff of Willow Lodge for their gentle loving care given to Lou. Visitation for Lou will take place from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 20, both in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial St., Berwick, N.S., B0P 1E0, (902-538-9900). Rev. Charles Bull officiating, with burial in the St. Mary?¢s Anglican Church Cemetery, Auburn. Family flowers only, donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Red Cross Society.
