"There's a face we shall always remember. A voice we shall always recall, A memory to cherish forever,of one so dear to us all" WELCH, Glen - 80 of Westport - It is with sadness that a much loved husband, Dad, Papa and Brother peacefully left us on Monday, November 7, 2011 for his beautiful southern shore. He goes with the thoughts and memories of his loved ones by his side. Born in Westport, he was the son of the late Lawrence ââ?¬Ë?Huddy?¢ and Gertrude ââ?¬Ë?Ma?¢ (Thompson) Welch. He was known to his family and friends as Glen, Dad, Papa, Jake and to some as "Old Pal". He was a life-long fisherman and avid hunter and he had a passion for both. Glen and his brother, Billy were the envy of other local fishermen always seeming to have the # one catch or so the stories go. He attended the Westport Academy and loved to reminisce of School day's and his boy hood chums. He always loved the outdoors and he spent many happy day's back on the shore at his beloved camp relaxing with his family, hiking the trails, beachcombing and making memories that we will treasure always. Two of his favorite past times were reading and listening to his music, forever will we hear the sound of country classics as we near his camp... He had a passion for gardening and his green thumb worked wonders on his vegetable and flower gardens. He loved his time spent with family and his youngest grandchildren could always bring a smile to his face. We'll miss his stories of day's of long ago and his wave from the window of home wishing us good night. There's a face we'll always remember, A voice we shall always recall, a memory to cherish forever, of one so dear to us all. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 yrs, Beth (Garron) children, sons, Stephen Welch (Glenda); David Welch; beloved daughters, LaReta Titus (Clifton); Marlene Norwood (Dan), all of Westport; grandchildren, Dennis whom he loved like his own son (Nidia) Welch Westport/ Dominican; Curtis Welch, (Sammy); Travis Welch; Jessica Titus (Mike); Cody Titus and Noah Norwood all of Westport; great-grandchildren, Ben Welch and Alexander Welch; sisters, Connie Bisson and Lorraine Bezant, both of Westport; brothers, Lawrence 'Pete' (Delores) Welch and Philip (Grace) Welch, all of Westport; several nieces and nephews.
