SCHOFIELD, Darrell Lionel - 69, Port Williams, Kings Co. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Lionel Schofield on November 26, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. Darrell passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Darrell was Born January 17, 1942 in Wolfville, N.S., he was the son of Earle and Zena (Nowlan) Schofield. While growing up, Darrell was active in the Boy Scout Movement and with the 4-H Club showing cattle. He was a member of the Port Williams United Baptist Church. He was a member of the Militia and the West Nova Scotia Regiment. Darrell worked for K&B Construction, Port Williams, Ontario Stress Concrete, Willowbank Farms, Port Williams, just to name a few. He retired from his last job with Bob Ogden. Darrell was a very caring person and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping in whatever way he could. Darrell is survived by his brother Dwight (Ada) Schofield, Port Williams, his sister Glenda (Don) Foster, Grafton, his beloved nieces, Cheryl (Wade) Barkhouse, Airdrie, Alberta, Kimberly (Duane) Jewett, Liberty, Maine and Diane (Rick) Doyle, Centreville and his nephew Scott (Ann) Foster, Woodville. He is also survived by ten adored great nieces and a great nephew, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents. The family would like to thank: Rev. Elizabeth Johnson, VON, Palliative Care Support, Dr. Grant, Dr. Wood, Dr. Palmer, Dr. Bagnell, Dr. Burgess and Serenity. There will be no visitation as per Darrell?¢s request. Cremation has taken place and graveside service will take place at 10:30 am in the Starr?¢s Point Cemetery on Wednesday November 30, 2011 with Reverend Elizabeth Johnson presiding. Donations in Darrell?¢s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one?¢s choice.
