Blackmore, Karen Olive (Robertson) - 53, of Aylesford passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, January 8, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late George and Doreen (Johnson) Robertson. Karen was retired from the Canadian Forces. She was very creative and enjoyed many artistic activities. Karen was a very outgoing person and avid horse woman; in September of 2011 she initiated and took part in the Breast Cancer Trail Ride and Drive. She will be remembered by many for her lovable attributes and touched so many people in her lifetime. Karen will be sadly missed by her husband, Les; son Chris, Aylesford; daughter Laura (Greg Amero), Aylesford; grandson Jacob, mother and father-in-law, Job and Sybil Blackmore, Newfoundland, sister-in-law, Sheree, Newfoundland; brother-in-law, Larry, BC; nieces, Jillian, Leslie, Jocelyn, Christina; and nephews, George, Shawn. Besides her parents Karen is predeceased by her sisters Judy and Lila. Visitation will be held at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick on Tuesday January 10, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00pm from where a service will be held on Wednesday at 2 pm with Reverend Charles Bull officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home and Crematorium, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, Nova Scotia B0P 1E0.
