Black, Jeanetta Isabel, RN., in her 93rd year, passed away on Saturday, January 14th, 2011 at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home where she resided for the past two years. Born in Pictou County, a graduate of the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing (1943), and long-time resident of Digby, she is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Dr. Douglas Black, her children: Margaret Mish (Leonard) of London, Ontario, Dr. John Black (Linda) of Digby, Barbara Vaughan (Rev.Canon Kenneth) of Annapolis Royal, and Donald Black (Donna) of North Bay, Ontario. Also surviving are her adored grandchildren: Dr. Sandra Mish, and Stuart Mish, Dr. Jonathon Black, and Cynthia Longmire(Brock), Rev. Thomas Vaughan (Krista), and Douglas Vaughan, Hannah Black, and Matthew Black; step-grandchildren: Carla Ellis, Andrea Nsiah (Sam), Rory Ellis (Lucy), Sam Ellis, and Miranda Thibeault. Survived by six great-grandchildren: Kaiden, Sawyer, Callum and Gwen Longmire, Joy Isabel and Ivy Hilton-Vaughan, and one step-great-grandchild, Maya Ellis. Also survived by her brother Neil MacLeod, her sister, Alice Nelson (Clarence) and sister-in-law Jean. Predecessed by her parents, William & Bessie MacLeod, her sister, Kaye, brother, John, and sister-in-law, Jessie. The family wants to thank the staff at the Annapolis Valley Nursing Home for the kind and loving care given to Mother. She loved and appreciated you all. In keeping with Mother?¢s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place, and a family memorial will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to a charity important to you in Mother?¢s name.
