Walker, Ronald Allen - 87, of Aylesford, passed away in the Valley Regional Hospital on Friday, February 10, 2012. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late Fred and Mary (Ferguson). Ron was a veteran of the Second World War and then spent 32 years as a commercial traveler for Swifts. He was a member of the Aylesford United Church and also the Aylesford Harmony Masonic Lodge #52 where he recently received his 50 year member recognition. Ron loved all sports and was especially passionate for hunting and fishing and playing golf both here and at their winter home at Town & Country in Dade City Florida. He always enjoyed a good game of cards and taught his children and a good many of his grandchildren how to play. Ron was proud of each and every one of his grandchildren and loved his great grandchildren dearly. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ellen (Henry); son Ronald (Nanette), Aylesford; daughters Marsha (Kevin) Freeman, Greenfield; Noreen (Eric) Clem, Viewmont; grandchildren Allyson Walker, Kelly Walker, Mark (Lisa) Walker, Jessica Walker, Matthew Freeman, Jamie (Jennifer) Freeman, Daniel Freeman, Luke Freeman, Heather (Ryan) Rafuse, Caitlin Clem, Austin Clem; 10 great grandchildren; chosen brothers Lloyd and Howard (June) MacCarthy, Auburn; nephews David and Dale Corbett. Besides his parents, Ron is predeceased by his brother Carl and sister Marjorie Corbett. Masonic service will be held on Wednesday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a visitation until 9 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick. A Memorial Service will take place in the Aylesford United Church on February 16 at 3:30 p.m. with The Reverend Brenda Nesbitt officiating. Interment will be held in the Aylesford United Church Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Ron?¢s memory may be made to the Aylesford United Church.
