Obituary of Nelson Vidito

Vidito Nelson Bertram - May 11, 1936 - March 9, 2012. It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Nelson, at the age of 75. Nelson is survived by his wife Donna, together 47 years. Children; Dawn (Lionel Francis) & Nelson Jr. of Alberta, Bertram of Digby, and Shawn (Amanda) of Manitoba, Heather (Colin Riggs) & Johnny of Dartmouth, Rickey (Anne) of Berwick, Nelson is also survived by sisters; Lois, Marjorie, Patricia, Catherine, Edith (Hebert) & Linda (Pearl); Brothers; Clifford (Gert), Charles (Art), & Earl (Patricia). Predeceased by parents William (Beatrice Marshall) Vidito. Brothers; Bob, Walter & Stanley. Sisters; Dorothy & Georgina. Daughter in law; Jennifer. Nelson was known as Papa to all of his 11 grand children, with whom he loved so much. Kyle (21), Ashley (14), BJ (10), Zachery (9), Chance (8), Jake (6), Niko (1), Cavin (20), Amber (15), Dustin (7) & Isabella (2). As well as another on the way. Nelson was a long-time volunteer and Fire Chief at the Brighton Barton Fire Dept from 1962-1999. He also worked at Digby General Hospital from 1958-1995. He had his own family farm for years before building his home in Brighton in 1984. 6 years ago, Nelson was on life support and we were told to say our goodbyes, but he fought through and we cherish the extra time we were given with him. We will miss you more than you know! A service will be held on Friday March 16th 2012 @ 2pm, at the United Baptist Church on Mount Street in Digby. Donations of your choice or flowers may be sent to the Church.
