Bent (Veinott), Shirley Marie - 86, of Greenwood, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in the Soldier?¢s Memorial Hospital, Middleton, Nova Scotia. Born in South Tremont; she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Ethel (Gates) Veinott. Many will remember Shirley?¢s days as manager of the ladies department at Andrew?¢s in Middleton. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior for many years through her involvement in the Melvern Square Baptist Church and the New Beginnings Christian Ministries Church in Greenwood. Shirley was known by her grandchildren as Nan, GG, and the lovin?¢ grammy. Those who knew her understand that her every breath was filled with an unconditional love and acceptance of us all. Shirley will be sadly missed by her husband, Harry; son Arnold (Darlene) Brown, Aylesford; daughters Joan (Paul) Marshall, Torbrook; Judith Brown, Greenwood; grandchildren Kimberly (Sandy Horsnell) Fiske; Lynda (Robin) Owen; Donya (Gordon) Sutherland-Baker; Kyle (Natasha) Ward; Kevin Ward; Aaron Brown; Jamie Brown; Victoria Brown; great grandchildren Kaycee; Aiden; Maisie; Bridget; Christopher; Ivan; Grace: Ruben; Chuck; Amellia; Brandon; great great-grandchildren Isaiah; Madison; James; Bella; Devontae; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her former husband, John Alden Brown; brothers Ralph; Herbie; Howard; Robie; sisters Helena Huntley; Phyllis Cooke; and Opal Veinott. A private graveside service will held in the Church Grove Cemetery. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, March 17 at 2:00 p.m. in the New Beginnings Centre, 1151 Bridge Street, Greenwood. Donations in Shirley?¢s memory may be made to the Lung Association and Heart and Stroke Foundation.
