Jones, Lynda Elizabeth - Annapolis Royal; It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Lynda, age 68, on March 19, 2012 at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home, after a long battle with Alzheimer?¢s. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Olive Hyland. Lynda spent 20 years as an accountant in the insurance industry and many, many years volunteering for various charitable organizations including volunteering at Kedgie for 20 years helping out with loon counts, etc. Her main love was volunteering at the Grace Maternity Hospital in Halifax. Upon retiring and moving to Annapolis Royal, she continued volunteering at the Historical Gardens, the library, and crafting teddy bears for the RCMP. She was a member of the Champlain Garden Club, an active member of St. George and St. Andrew United Church where she served a term as secretary of the UCW. She is survived by her husband and best friend Arthur, sons Andrew (Marisa), Oakville, Ont., and Daniel, Halifax, NS; grandsons Giancarlo and Luca which were Lynda?¢s pride and joy; sister Barbara Poole (Gary), Halifax. Special thanks to Dr. Garvey and Dr. Buchholz and to the VONs who supplied home care and especially to - Emily쳌. Extra special thanks to Linda Bailey and the staff of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for the care provided to Lynda and her family during her four year stay. Cremation has taken place. Funeral will be at St. George and St. Andrew United Church, Annapolis Royal on Monday, March 26 at 2 pm with Rev. Robert McCarthy officiating. Cremation is under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, Nova Scotia B0P 1E0. In lieu of flowers; donations can be made to the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home Activity Fund, St. George and St. Andrew?¢s United Church or a charity of your choice.
