Obituary of Bernice A. I. Sampson

Sampson; Bernice, Ada Irene of 132 Bessie North Rd, Canning, NS passed away at Evergreen, Home for Special Care April 1, 2012. Born in P.E.I. Oct 9, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Cleveland and Florence (Dover) Roberts. During WWII she served in the Navy. She spent many years of her life attached to the St. John Ambulance and the Royal Canadian Legion as a member and a volunteer. In her early years, she lived and worked in P.E.I, Ontario, and Cape Breton before moving to the Valley area where she resided for seven years with her Special Niece and Caregiver, Juanita Blenus. She is survived by brothers, Ira Roberts, Alberta; Harold Roberts, Saskatchewan; sisters Kathleen Arsenault, Dartmouth; Sadie (Howard) White, Ontario; Lottie (George) Bambrick, P.E.I. Also sister-in-law Jean Roberts, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husbands, Jack Blackett, Rodney MacLeod and Whitney Sampson. Also sister Inez Gallant and brothers Louis, Alton, and Fenton and sister-in-law Doris Roberts. As per Bernice?¢s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral. Burial will be at a later date in Soldier Cove Road Cape Breton. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Kings Branch 6 Kentville.
