Parker, Robert Bruce - 77, Cambridge, NS. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Robert - Bob - Parker on April 5th, 2012 at Grandview Manor, Berwick, NS. Bob was the son of the late John and Eunice (Tucker) Parker and grandson of the late Mayor John Parker of Halifax. He was born in Halifax and attended schools there and in Hubbard?¢s NS. He lived for many years in Queensland following the death of his father. During High school he joined the Army Reserves within the medical corp. He spent most of his working career (39 years) with Blackwood Hodge with his work taking him all across Canada and especially the Maritime Provinces. Following his career with Blackwood Hodge, he was partners in the company Coastal Rentals which he helped found. He was an avid collector of Lionel and HO trains and member of many clubs over the years and always had a love of the hobby. Bob always maintained his love of the bay and for the outdoors. Over the years he could always be found tending his gardens or out in the woods with one of his beloved dogs. He leaves his wife of 53 years, the former Ruby Elizabeth Anderson, a son Robert Anderson Parker and Daughter in-law Deirdre Moore, Grandson Clayton Bruce Parker and a brother Kenneth Allen (Shelagh) Parker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth - Bettyì³ Maiden, Louisville Kentucky and a brother Stewart, Edmonton Alberta. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Monday April 9, 2012 in Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home 192 Commercial Street, Berwick. Funeral Service will be held at St Luke?¢s Anglican Church in Hubbard?¢s, NS at 2pm on Wednesday April 11th. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer?¢s Foundation for Caregiving in Canada. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home and Crematorium, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, Nova Scotia B0P 1E0.
