Obituary of Joyce L Crouse

CROUSE (Wood), Joyce Loreen - 76, Bridgewater, passed away peacefully with family by her side on April 9, 2012. She was born at home, in South Rawdon, the oldest daughter of the late John and Ola (Mattinson) Wood. Joyce graduated from the Nova Scotia Normal College in 1954, and her first teaching position was primary to grade seven, in the one-room school house in Center Rawdon. She continued teaching in Dartmouth, Fall River, and throughout Lunenburg County. Joyce enjoyed her family and grandkids, country and Newfoundland music, and playing the organ. In her younger years, many weekends were spent camping. As she grew older, her interests included reading, keeping up on current news events and a love of chocolate. She is survived by her four children, Loreen (Brad Webb), Wallaceburg, Ont.; Terry (Margie), Hammonds Plains; Sharon (Craig Bolivar), Bridgewater; Sandra (Tim Johnston), Greenwood.; grandchildren, Laura, Paul and Louanna Webb; Madison and Logan Johnston; Nevaeh Bolivar; sister, Marilyn (Kenneth) Canavan, Rawdon; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother in infancy; brothers, Glendon, Ronald, and Donald; infant grandson, MacCoy Bolivar; neice, Susanne Wood and nephew, Kevin Wood. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home and Crematorium. The memorial service will be held 11a.m., Saturday, April 28 in South Rawdon United Baptist Church (22 Crossroads No. 3 at Route 202) with Pastor Clarence Bungay officiating. Reception to follow.
