DYKENS, Dexter Wilson - 87, Kentville passed away Friday April 27, 2012 in Evergreen home for special care. Born on June 26, 1924 in Scott?¢s Bay he was a son of the late Wylie and Clara (Tupper) Dykens. Dexter served in WWII in England, France, Belgium and Holland. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Kings Branch 6 Kentville. Dexter liked bowling and playing darts and while at Evergreen he enjoyed Bingo and playing cards. Dexter is survived by his wife of 57 years, Frances (Tupper); sons Hollis, Toronto, Andrew (Sheri Legge), Cambridge; sisters Leora Carey, Kentville, Edith Ritchie, Ohio; brothers Leslie (Myrna), Scott?¢s Bay, Arthur (Julia), Canning; grandchildren Tara and Tyler. Besides his parents Dexter was predeceased by sisters Dorothy Huntley, Cora Barkhouse; brother Theodore. Dexter?¢s family would like to thank all the staff of Evergreen Home for Special Care for all their love, support, care and special attention given to Dexter. Thank you to Marilyn and Ed Barkhouse - Bless You. Cremation has taken place. By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. There will be a family burial at a later date.
