Bent, Carl Watson - 83, of Waterville, passed away on Friday May 18 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Scott and Annie (Trahan). Carl spent two years at Camp Aldershot awaiting duty but never had the chance to serve as the war ended. He worked for many years in the maintenance department with Larsens. He loved playing guitar, mouth organ, and entertaining. One of his favorite pastimes was repairing bicycles. Carl will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years Margaret (Whitman), sons Carl (Colleen), Kentville; Lawrence (Dale Stevens), Kingston; Ronald (Kelly Hagen DeWindt), Calgary; Arthur (Jackie), Calgary; daughters Faye (Lloyd) Ward, Weston; Marilyn, Berwick; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by son Harvey; brothers Arthur; Maxwell; Eugene; Harvey; and sister Marguerite. A visitation will be held on Monday May 21 from 7-9 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick from where a Royal Canadian Legion and Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday May 22 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Gary Horton officiating.
