MOORE, Francis Joseph - Dickì³, 84 - Aylesford, passed away gently in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, Nova Scotia on 24 May, 2012. Born in Halifax on January 28, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Anne (Conway) Moore. Francis lived with his wife, four sons, and a family dog Frankie in Aylesford, Nova Scotia. When not contending for Canada?¢s Worst DIY, he was active on the flea market circuit. He maintained a courteous and jovial disposition. A long military service began with the Princess Louise Fusiliers in Halifax, served in Korea with the 3rd Princess Patricia?¢s Canadian Light Infantry, returned to Canada re-badged as the 2nd Canadian Guards, posted to the 1st Canadian Guards when posted to Aldershot as I staff. On active service retirement, he enlisted in the West Nova Scotia Regiment (Reserve). Other employment was with the Town of Kentville Fire Department and Valley Flag Services/ his surviving family members are his wife Janette (Meister); sons, Daniel (Yarmouth), Michael (Cranbrook, BC), Patrick (Aylesford), Timothy (Canning), Steven (Lower Sackville), Roger (Aylesford), and Brian (Aylesford); daughter Janette (Carpenter)(Kentville); brothers, Richard (Winnipeg) and Stanley (Chester). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Francis was predeceased by an infant brother Danny and eldest brother William. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Special thanks to Dr. Mary Joseph, the Dept of Veteran Affairs, the VON, the many specialists and service providers.
