Obituary of Carl Hiltz

Hiltz, Carl St Clair - 85, of New Ross, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in New Ross, he was the son of the late Rufus and Emily (Legge). Carl retired as a school bus driver and went on to fulfill his lifelong passion of farming. Carl always looked forward to attending the exhibitions to watch the horse and oxen pulls. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Eva (Keddy); son Carson (Val) Hiltz, New Ross; daughters Pat (Otis) Cook, Fraxville; Jo (Ian) Veinot, New Ross; grandchildren Steven; Tammie; Wayne; David; Allyson; Michaela; great grandchildren Jade; Faith; Lawson; Saege and Ava; brother Calvin Hiltz, Forties; sisters Leola Hiltz, Fraxville; Lucille Avery, Beaverbank; Thelma Keillor, Beaverbank; Rolena Brown, Forties; Lois Durling, Cambridge; sister-in-law Alma Hiltz, Fraxville; brother-in-law Laurie Powers, Berwick, Clyde Goulden, Aylesford and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Carl is predeceased by his brothers Clint; Dean; sisters Phyllis, Melba, Goldie, Parnie, Aileen; sister-in-law Jean Hiltz; and brother-in-laws Earl Hiltz; Glen Keillor; Moses Avery; Paul Brown; Vernon Barkhouse; Laurie Hiltz and Harmon Durling. Donations in Carl?¢s memory may be made to the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department or to a charity of choice. A visitation will be held in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, New Ross on Monday, May 28 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 29 at 2 p.m. at the St. Augustine?¢s Anglican Church, Forties; with Nicole Uzans, officiating.
