Schofield-Rafuse, Joan Marie (Zinck) - 73, of Waterville; passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 26, 2012 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick; she was a daughter of the late Aseph and Doris (Zinck) O?¢Neil. Joan worked as an x-ray technician for many years at the old Blanchard Fraser Memorial Hospital, Kentville. She loved baking and knitting as well as writing to pen pals all over the country. During her marriage with Keith one of their favourite pass times was card playing. Joan will be remembered by her family for her shere devotion and loyalty to them throughout the years and the girls fondly remember their moms dedication to trips and events they were in as Majorettes. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Joan was very kind hearted and would do anything to help out. Joan is survived by her son Bruce (Meriana) Schofield, Torrington, AB; daughters Linda (Maurice) Bezanson, Aylesford; Wanda (Stanley) Viner, Waterville; grandchildren Selena Ellis; Darren Coleman; Jason Viner; Devin Viner; great grandchildren Tripp Viner; Andrew Ellis; sisters Hazel (Robert) Ward, Kentville; Mary (Allan) McDaid, Fall?¢s River; Kim (Clifford) Fraser, Stellarton; Tammy (Tim) Sewards, Coldbrook; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her former husband Keith Schofield; son Cecil Schofield; brother David Zinck; and granddaughter Evalena Schofield. A visitation will be held on Friday June 29 from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. in the HC Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick from where a Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday June 30 at 1 p.m. followed by reception. After reception the interment will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in Joan?¢s memory may be made to the Children?¢s Wish Foundation.
