My cousin, Geraldine Dunlop, contacted me about the loss of your mother. Jennie was my motherchr(39)s first cousin and has long been a very special person, both to my mother and father and my fatherchr(39)s family. They all met very long ago and always loved her letters and remembered her as a very generous, bright and loving person. I was so happy to have made two trips to meet her, each time was so special and I will always treasure the time. Lots of love to all of you

Although we only met Jenny when she moved into Orchard Villa, my Mother, Helen, formed an immediate bond with her. They spent many hours together laughing, talking, and helping to solve Lexicons. Jenny will be greatly missed and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time.

We want to express our condolences at this time of your motherchr(39)s death. Just to read the obituary in the Chronicle Herald brings back a flood of memories from the days of being student pastor at Burlington/Victoria Harbour. Jennie singing in the church choir; the tidy home with the welcome mat out; the delicious cooking; and so on. Also one special memory that has been a source of chuckles over the years. During graduate studies Laurie brought Marion to visit Jennie. Due to Newfoundland expressions Laurie had coached Marion on the usage of mainland expressions but failed on one. Marion, seeing the wonderful way your mother took care of her home expressed what she thought was a complement. "Your place is so homely." In NL this means "homey." But on the Mainland it means just the opposite. The look on Jenniechr(39)s face was as if she had received a shock. Laurie tried to explain the difference in lingo, but I donchr(39)t think Jennie really understood how two cultures could speak the same language and mean different things. Thought Ichr(39)d share this with you, even though itchr(39)s a time of sadness. God grant you His grace and comfort at this time.
