Obituary of Leona A. McCarthy

McCarthy, Leona A. - 82, Windsor. On Saturday, July 28, 2012 our mother left us to be with her past loved ones. She left very peacefully with two of her daughters at her side. Lee was predeceased by her husband Fred; sisters Anne Emery and Beatrice McCallam. Lee is survived by children Marilyn (Alex) Lamphier, Brooklyn Hants County, Debbie (Mac) Bennett, Calgary, John (Denise) McCarthy, Halifax, and Kelly (Doug) Ross, Gaspereau; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sister Glenna McKenna, Dartmouth. Lee was a very active community member, she loved and enjoyed life and family to the fullest. We would like to thank the caring staff at the Windsor Elms for their kind and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wed August 1, 2012 at the Brooklyn United Church, Hants County. Interment will be in the Camp Hill Cemetery, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windsor Elms or the Brooklyn United Church.
