NICKERSON, Sybil Louise - 84, formerly of Greenwood Square, Kings Co., passed away peacefully in the presence of her family August 2, 2012, at Grand View Manor, Berwick. She was born July 18, 1928 on Forbes Point, Shelburne Co, a daughter of the late Edward James Nickerson and Muriel May Forbes. A former employee of Stevens Flowers and Enserinks Nursery, she retired in 1993 after a 12-year career at O.H. Armstrong Limited, Kingston. She served the Kingston United Baptist Church for 35 years in many capacities, including as a Deacon. She was a tireless promoter of family ties. Surviving are her sons, Wayne Harding (Joan) Nickerson, Lower Sackville; Blair Eugene (Rhea) Nickerson, Fergus, Ont.; Richard Mark Nickerson, Berwick; daughter, Judith Elaine Jones, Bedford; grandchildren, Carey Jean (Andrew Rowe), Victoria, B.C.; Christy Louise (Miro Rak), Halifax; Amy Margaret (Adam Penny), Dartmouth; David Wayne Harding Nickerson (Terri Nehiley), Lower Sackville; Kimberly Joy (Jerry Colwell), London, Ont.; Kyle Jeffrey Nickerson, Burlington, Ont.; Gene Wayne "Blue" Parkinson, Kingston, Ont.; Kimberley Joan Davidson, Dartmouth; Ryan John Jones (Amanda Keating), Montreal, Que.; Laura Amanda Jones, Hughenden, Alta.; great-grandchildren, Jordan Stephens, Sophia Margaret Rowe, Meredith Wendy Rowe, Isaiah Leslie Rak, Audrey Joan Elizabeth Rak, Lucas Xavier Nickerson, Brianna Lynn Nickerson, Joshua Kelly Davidson, and John Russell Taylor; great-great granddaughter Madison Emily Mai Davidson-Seguin; half-brother, James Eric (Hilda) Nickerson, Shelburne; sisters, Mamie Gordon (Ronald) Forbes, Forbes Point, and Barbara Marie Scott, Clarks Harbour. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Wynne Harding Gordon Nickerson; half-sisters Floris Vivian Harding, Ruth Alna White, Gertrude Eliza (Hamilton) Jeffrey, and Audrey Lavenia Amiro; sister Elsie Lucille Zwicker. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday, August 4, in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, 192 Commercial Street, Berwick, Nova Scotia B0P 1E0. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, August 5, in Kingston United Baptist Church, Rev. Leon Langille officiating. Reception will follow the interment service in North Kingston Cemetery.
