SAWLER, Wallace Burton 'Dup" 'Wally" ?ì³ 98, formerly of Waverley, passed away peacefully August 9, 2012, in Wolfville Elms Nursing Home, his home since 2008. Born May 17, 1914, he was a son of the late Edward and Alice (Eisan) Sawler. He lived in Waverely for most of his life while working at CNR for many years until retirement. Then he and Doris moved to Upper Stewiacke where they lived for 26 years. He enjoyed his garden, fishing; woodworking, drives m the countryside and picnics. We will always be thankful for all of the wonderful neighbours and friends that took them under their wing. He enjoyed, his time with his woodworking buddy, Stan. He always loved hockey and played many games with his brothers and also for the Waverley Gold Diggers. He worked in the Gold Mines of Waverley which led to him and his brother, Ralph to participate in the Moose River Gold Mme Rescue after the cave in of 1936. He was able to attend the 75th anniversary of this disaster. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Doris (Gladwin); daughter, Audrey; grandson, Christopher Clarke, also his brothers, Lawrence, Percy, Lewis, George, Ralph, Ray and sisters, Edna and Myrtle; one niece and two nephews. Surviving are daughter, Fay (David) Clarke; granddaughter, Kimberley (Richard) Thynne; great-grandson, Roger (Erin) Thynne and great-grandÃ?ìdaughter, Rhonda Thynne (David); many nieces and nephews. Thank you to his homecare group in Waverley and a very special thank you to the staff at Wolfville Elms who went above and beyond the call of duty in their caring of him. He called it his home and extended family. He loved playing bingo, enjoyed sharing a room with Francis and playing a few tunes. Thank you to everyone living there for checking on him toward the end, it means a lot. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Wolfville.
