Obituary of Darrell Kenneth Johnston

JOHNSTON, Darrell Kenneth - Sambo쳌 - 65, Hantsport passed away August 26, 2012 at home. Born on February 13, 1947 in Windsor he was a son of the late Raymond and Irene (Lunn) Johnston. Darrell worked for the Town of Hantsport for the past 25 years. He had worked for Maritime Forestry and CKF Inc., Hantsport. Darrell was an active member of the Hantsport Fire Department for 17 years. Darrell loved to watch ball games, especially the Hantsport Shamrocks. He loved to read and go for long drives with his wife Shirley. Darrell enjoyed helping people and would often be seen mowing lawns for others. Darrell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Lee (Kyle); sons, Peter (Tracey), Hantsport, Michael (Jocelyn), Brooklyn, Hants Co., Wray (Melanie Wilson), Hantsport; grandchildren, Miranda Johnston, Tiffany Doucet, Ceildh Doucet, Macie Johnston, Kyle Johnston, Sienna Campbell; brother, Laurie (Marg) Johnston, Hantsport; sisters Diane (Blaine) Fitzgerald, Ardoise, Shelly (Paul) Bonnanfant, Digby; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Darrell was predeceased by his aunt Doris Ellis. There will be no visitation by request. A funeral memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday August 30, 2012 in the Hantsport Fire Department with Chaplain Marion Jamer officiating. Burial will be in the Riverbank Cemetery. A reception will be in the Hantsport Fire Department following the interment service. Donations in memory of Darrell may be made to the Hantsport Fire Department.
