TOWNSEND, BERNADETTE ANNIE (STUART) - 89, Meteghan. Born on March 31,1923 in Amesbury, Mass., daughter of late Joseph and Laura (Blinn) Stuart, passed away on September 5, 2012 at the Villa Acadienne, Meteghan. Bernadette is survived by Friend and Companion Ralph Saulnier, sons: John S. Townsend (Newtonville), F. Gary ( Valerie) Townsend (Mount Uniacke) and William G.(Bill)(Gloria)Townsend (Kentville).Grandchildren: Kyle, Natalia, Tristan, Trevor (Esther), Mark, Terra(Richard Aston),Billie, step grandchildren, Kim(Ells) McCarthy and Brian Ells. Great-granddaughters: Kaelyn Aston and Clare Townsend, step great-grandchildren Nathan and Dylan McCarthy and Brent, Brittany and Bethany Ells. Sisters: Blanche Forrest(Grosses Coques) and Lorraine Brown (Pictou),brothers: Augustine Stuart (Villa Acadienne), Arthur (Eileen) Stuart (Little Brook). Bernadette was predeceased by her husband J.F. Grant Townsend (November 16,1971): brothers, Philippe, Vincent , Robert and one in infancy, sisters: Emma Melanson, Cecile Theriault, Marie Polletta and two in infancy. No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at the Jawbone Corner cemetery on Saturday, September 8,2012 at 2:00pm with Father Craig Cameron officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend. A reception will follow at the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home in Wolfville. The family would like to extend a large THANK YOU to all at the Villa Acadienne, Meteghan who cared for Bernadette, so very well, over the past few years.
