GREENWOOD, Murray Gerald - McKay Section. It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Murray Gerald Greenwood. Murray died peacefully at home on September 9, 2012. Born in Halifax, he was the only son of Gerald Joseph and Sadie Elgora (Wallace) Greenwood. He was the last member of his immediate family. Murray will be missed profoundly, by his loving wife of 52 years, Marilyn Jean (Thorne) Greenwood; his children, Christine Lynn (Wayne - Dubì³) Phillips, Mill Section, Glenda Jean (Darby) Redden, Windsor, Julia Dawn (Glen) Gardner, Rusagonis, NB; son Darrell Murray Gerald Greenwood, Toronto; his dearly loved grandchildren, Laura Christine Greenwood Phillips MacDonald (TJ), Heidi Dawn Greenwood Phillips (Jamie Loane), Rory Phillips (Christie Theoret), Samantha Anne Greenwood Gardner, Marc Murray Gardner, Sarah Nicole Redden (Shane Naugle), Evan Stephen Redden (Kaitlyn Worth), Nickina Greenwood-Gardner; his great grandchildren, Spencer Lucas Downing, Beau Kelly Greenwood-Gardner, Denali Marie Gardner, Lily Christine MacDonald, Jesse Lee MacDonald; brother-in-law?¢s, Ed Thorne, Gary (Jean) Thorne, Ron (Ann) Thorne, Jack Richards; and several nieces and nephews. Murray was very proud of the fact that he only ever missed 2 days of work in his entire career. He started his working life at Chappel?¢s in Halifax. Then he went to Halifax Ignition for many years until he started his own business, Metric Electric on Joseph Howe Drive. He finished his working years at the airport, working for Hudson General Aviation Services, later named Globe Ground. He always loved his work, and was very good at what he did. There will be no visitation or funeral, as per Murray?¢s wishes. Cremation has taken place.
