Small, Harold Holmes - 92, passed away peacefully at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville on September 15, 2012. Born in Aylesford on May 27, 1920; Harold was a graduate of Aylesford High School before joining the Canadian Armed Forces in 1941. There he served as an army private driving supply line trucks throughout Europe during WW11. After serving overseas, he returned home to his family in 1946. In 1949, Harold moved to Weymouth , Massachusetts to go into business with his brother. In 1982, Harold and his wife, retired back to Aylesford where they have lived ever since. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Frances - Bunny쳌 (Nichols), son H. Alan (Kathleen) Rockland, Mass; two granddaughters Michelle, Boston, Mass; and Alyson (Kevin) Harrington of Dedham, Mass, and his sister-in-law Jeannette Herbert, Aylesford. Harold is predeceased by his parents Fred and Ella (Leahy); stepmother Julia; brother Fred (Elsie); sister-in-law Thelma (Reagh) Vidito; brother-in-law Ed Herbert; and nephew Ramon. Legion tribute will take place on Friday September 21 at 6:30 p.m. with Chaplain Ian Robb and Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating, followed by a visitation from 7-9 p.m. in the Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick. Interment will be held in the Aylesford Union Cemetery on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Harold?¢s memory may be made to the Aylesford United Church.
