Chase, Alva Lorraine (Greenlund) - 78, of Berwick; passed away in the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Halifax on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Born in Wolfville, she was the daughter of the late Florence Greenlund. Alva was a long time member of the Berwick Baptist Church and really enjoyed her volunteer work with the Auxiliary. She loved her gardens and really liked flowers of all kinds. Some of her favorite pastimes were Bingo and crossword puzzles. Alva was very proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all of her family. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 54 years, Don; sons Randy, Berwick; Derrick, Berwick; daughter Jocelyn (Daniel) Chabot, Vankleek Hill, ON; grandchildren Joella and Jonathan Chabot; Vankleek Hill, ON; half brother Eric (Viola) McInnis, New Minas; half sisters Virginia Rector, Kentville; Carlotta (Paul) Comeau, New Minas; her dear aunt Madeline; special niece Valerie; and several nieces and nephews. Alva is predeceased by her son Gregory; daughter Brenda; and half brother Ernest McInnis. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 2nd from 7-9 pm in the HC Lindsay Funeral Home, Berwick with a funeral service on Wednesday at 2:00 pm from the Berwick Baptist Church with Reverend Marilyn Rose officiating; followed by interment in the Berwick Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Berwick Baptist Church.
